HotRod Henry’s DESIGN

At first glance you clearly see that HotRod Henry is like no other printing machine out there. Designing it we wanted it to stand out in the crowd of nearly identical, dull 3D printers. We wanted looks that would be warmer, friendly. We wanted a machine that gives you confidence, a device whose reliability you can trust. It turned out that vintage American looks is something associated with stability, robustness, perfect simplicity and universal stylishness.

Fine Finish

Our aim was a design that would make you confident. Henry (although we had no name for it yet) had to resemble something from the ’50s or ’60s. Like those beautiful home appliances that look old, but are actually state-of-the art modern devices. Using such a device makes you comfortable thinking you are interacting with something timeless. Something durable, not just temporary. Something made of metal.

Curvy lines

Sharp looks, not sharp edges.

Even though  a few chamfered box printers actually looked great, we did not want boxy appearance on our printer. Just like vintage HotRod cars are powerful on the inside, but classy from the outside.

Attention to Detail

Every part of HotRod Henry has been designed considering its form and function. Stainless and chrome accents, emblems and decorative grilles. Everything has been composed with care. Like a well designed car, all lines and curves harmonise with one another forming a proportional unit.

And if there is a functional detail that needed to be put somewhere, we made sure it did not look off.
